Joy DesMarias-Lanz

Joy DesMarais-Lanz (she/they) currently serves as an Executive Director at Synergos, an Association Management Company where she leads a portfolio of associations and not-for-profit clients. 

 

Prior to her tenure at Synergos, Joy held leadership positions at HOBY (Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership), the National Youth Leadership Council, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet of St. Paul (MN), and three institutions of higher education. 

 

She actively volunteers for the Association Management Company (AMC) Institute, Meeting Professionals International (MPI), and Associations North and serves as the Chair of LOTT (Leaders of Today and Tomorrow). In her volunteer capacity, she frequently delivers workshops on event execution and leadership. 

 

Joy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and a Master of Arts degree in organizational leadership from St. Catherine University, as well as a Certificate in Meeting Management (CMM) from Meeting Professionals International and the Certified Association Executive from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). 

 

Married to Nathan for 15 years, she is a devoted mom to Olivia, bonus mom to Katelyn and Ashley, and bonus grandma to Evelyn. 

 

In her leisure time, Joy enjoys binge-watching TV shows, reading, traveling , and spending quality time with her family
