Jessica Florek Hicks

Jess Florek Hicks (she/her) is an experienced people leader and strategist committed to advancing women’s leadership, equity, and inclusive organizational cultures. With more than a decade leading cross-functional teams and large-scale initiatives, she specializes in developing talent, strengthening operational effectiveness, and creating environments where diverse perspectives drive decision-making.

Jess has held senior roles across technology, operations, and customer experience at SPS Commerce. She guided process transformation, coached emerging leaders, and expanded opportunities for women and underrepresented groups. She has a strong record of building leadership pipelines, elevating team performance, and aligning people strategies with strategy-centered goals.

Her nonprofit experience includes board leadership and program restructuring, where she strengthened governance, improved volunteer engagement, and built training programs that expanded impact and accessibility. She volunteers with multiple animal rescue organizations as a foster and trainer; a hobby that led to her going to school and opening a training business.

Jess holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Leadership and advanced training in communication, behavioral coaching, and organizational development. She is continuing education for her MSN over the coming years. She brings to board service a human-centered, equity-driven approach, grounded in the belief that organizations thrive when women are empowered to lead confidently and authentically.

Jess’  most valued role is mom to her two young children, two dogs, and foster children that enter her home. She has been partnered with her husband Michael for 13 years. In their spare time, they like to have family movie nights, travel, and try new things together.
