Marci Levy-Maguire

Marci Levy-Maguire, Ed.D. is an experienced educator and educational leader who views life and work through feminist, scientific, and social justice lenses. A graduate of Barnard College (B.A., Biology), Teachers College of Columbia University (M.S., Secondary School Science Education), and University of St. Thomas (Ed.D., Educational Leadership and Learning), Dr. Marci Levy-Maguire currently serves as an Education Content Specialist for Elevate Teaching, an adjunct faculty member in the Educational Leadership and Learning Program of the University of St. Thomas, a board member for the Minnesota Alliance with Youth, and lead facilitator for the Society for Women Educational Leaders (SWEL). Through SWEL, she and a team of volunteers bring female leaders together to connect, collaborate, and increase their confidence through annual symposia, online and in-person networking opportunities, and shared experiences so they can take action in their own contexts to improve gender equity in their professional and personal lives.

Marci’s lifelong advocacy for girls and women was developed and strengthened through her experiences as a daughter, early career marine biologist, middle and high school science teacher, professional development and educational leadership specialist, educational researcher, high school principal, district assessment coordinator, K-8 charter school director, adjunct college professor, consultant, community member, wife, and parent of an incredible 18-year-old daughter. Three essential questions guide Dr. Levy-Maguire’s work as an educator, researcher, and leader: Who am I? Who do I want to be? How do I get there? Born in New York City and raised in New Jersey, Marci and her family have called Minnesota home since 2012.
